The 2002 Mercury Villager has relays--used to support regulate high current devices for example your air energetic or fuel system--scattered across three separate areas: the passenger team compartment, the engine drawer fuse/relay box (also called the energy distribution box) left of the battery and therefore the engine compartment relay box while you're watching battery.

Instructions

    1

Confirm any type of relay you want to replace in a person's Mercury Villager along with the location of that relay within on the list of three compartments by discussing your owner's guide book diagrams (pages 175 throughout 182) and connected relay keys.

    2

Disconnect any battery. Keep in mind that until you disconnect the battery pack you run a possibility of an random electrical surge that may hurt you or even cause costly scratches to your vehicle.

    3

Access the ideal fuse/relay and/or stand alone relay box on your Mercury Villager and get rid of the box cover.

    4

Unplug a relay and check out the box section for dirt, deterioration . or damage. Clean up, fix or correct any area, when needed.

    5

Check a relay's circuit mother board solder for microscopic cracks which includes a magnifying glass prior to replacing it with all your new relay. Soldered joints may well crack causing resistance while in the relay and your voltage drop. Consider resoldering the joints rebuild the non-working communicate to working situation.

    6

Plug the relay back up in the socket (if restored with soldering) or plug on your new replacement pass on. Confirm that your relay fits nicely within its outlet as current running by way of a loose relay could potentially cause the relay in order to overheat or that outer casing to be able to melt.

    7

Replace all the box cover and even reconnect your power. Start the Mercury Villager plus ensure the revive worked.
